and the stink of death has not faded
the vacancy wills for the still to be filled
the wind rolls it's tongue with breath bated
eyes from afar
eyes they look
eyes they see
longing to escape, to feed, to be free

painted and perfumed
they dance and sing
they gleet their prattle, and they say it's so
bleating cattle in a fixed dumb show
coming down the hill and coming down fast
he steps on the lines
and mows down the cast
the narrator meets his just due fate
his silence announces the changing at the gate
